Weather Hurricane Alex With Your Valuables Safe In Houston Self Storage

Houston self storage is a good option for people worried their houses won’t protect their belongings in the face of another hurricane. Especially those people who don’t have insurance at the moment, as there’s no rushing out to get insurance just now. When storms enter the Gulf and threaten the coast, most insurers consider it too risky to write new policies.

The Houston Chronicle reports this:

Now that Hurricane Alex has entered the Gulf of Mexico and is forecast to strike near the Texas-Mexico border, homeowners on the Texas coast will be hard-pressed to find home insurance until it passes. Most insurers, including State Farm, Allstate and Farmers, stop selling new policies in the area after a storm passes west of 80 degrees west longitude and north of 20 degrees north latitude, near the Yucatán peninsula.

We don’t agree with these insurers, but we do have an idea. If you’ve recently acquired nicer furniture or appliances, think about placing them in climate controlled Houston self storage until Alex passes through. We won’t turn you away for pre-existing conditions outside any human’s control!
