Self Storage Houston

Packing For Your Houston Storage Unit

Packing can be a little challenging. Between figuring out what’s staying, what’s going in self storage Houston, and what is going in the trash, you can be left downright exhausted. If you’re a little nervous about packing properly for your Houston self storage, here are a few handy tips:

-Box everything you can, and make sure to group similar items. That way, when you go back for something, you have a much better chance of finding it.

-Clearly label each box. That means not just legibly, but with a descriptive word that tells you what’s inside. The label “misc.” shouldn’t be used on every box.

-Items like pictures, mirrors, etc. shouldn’t be stacked flat. Instead wrap them in bubble wrap and secure Styrofoam corner protectors on each end.

-Books can be a challenge to pack and an even bigger one to move. When you’re packing them in boxes, be sure not to over stuff them. They will become impossible to pick up; and the more weight that is in them, the more likely they are to break.

-If you have lamps that are going in storage, separate the shade and lamp and wrap up each carefully. Lamp shades can collect dust fairly easily so be sure to keep them covered with either a sheet or some other protective surface.
