Self Storage Houston
If you have a classic car or are just looking for a spot for your clunker 1988 Saturn, consider a Houston self storage unit. There are three basic ways you can store your car. The one you choose will depend on the cost and just how nice your car is.
-Climate controlled: The most expensive of the three, but the best way to store a car. Your car will be protected from both the heat and cold. The unit will remain at a constant temperature. This option is better for those who may own a vintage or rare car.
-Non-climate controlled: A much cheaper option that will still guarantee your car is stored in a well-protected unit. However, changing temperatures can potentially damage the car. Classic car owners will often put down carpeting to protect the car from excess moisture.
-Outside storage: This is the cheapest method but your car will be exposed to all the elements –rain, sun, wind, snow, cold, and hot. Be sure to at least invest in an extremely durable protective cover.
Before storing, fill the gas tank up and add fuel stabilizer if the car will be stored for a long period of time. Also check all fluids to prevent moisture buildup. It’s a good idea to remove the battery once stored and keep it in a climate controlled place.
The Houston public storage facility at Proguard is happy to safely store your car, boat, or RV.
