Storage Unit or Hang Out Spot?
This became a topic of debate on an episode of the show Yes, Dear entitled “Space Jam.” The Warners and the Hughes are running a little tight on space and both wives are ready to toss out their husbands’ “junk.” After protesting that old records and bean bag chairs are not junk, the men decide to rent a storage unit. However, it’s not long before they discover that other men have turned their units into hangout spots –complete with couches, posters, and video games. One husband was told he had to get rid of his enormous Star Wars collection and pretty much turned the unit into the Death Star. He often wore a Storm Trooper suit while in there (pictured to the left).
Greg and Jimmy spend all their free time hanging out in their storage unit, unbeknownst to their wives. When the wives find out, they allow the men to move some of their stuff back so they can start spending more time at home. Although this may sound like a really cool idea, I don’t recommend using your Houston self storage for that purpose. Bring in your excess stuff and leave it there. I don’t think your friends and family will be too keen on the idea of you hanging out in a Houston storage unit all the time. It’s just sad.
