Self Storage Facilities Become Part of the Future City
In the 80′s, many science fiction movies laid out their imaginative future cities. Holograms, corporate control and hoverboards were all part of that city. But as we get closer to their vision, with flat screen TV’s (once unheard of) and three dimensional footage gaining some steam in the entertainment industry it seems we are closer to the future city than once imagined. There is however, one element that all the movies and TV shows neglected to mention. That is self storage facilities. New city plans in Houston, Texas may include urban spaces devoted to Houston self storage facilities. As people gain more and more valuables, they need places to store them in. And urban planners seem to have figured out how to combine these facilities in the urban landscape. Manhattan storage companies are already doing it by placing storage locations inside the city, allowing easy access to the valuables.
But how will you utilize the space? What will you store and what will you keep in your apartment? that of course depends on the size of your place. Urban areas tend to have many small apartment complexes in one area, leaving the people to find a new place to store their property. The next phase of urban planning will surely include self storage. Leaving us to think the self storage units in Houston will be part of it’s future.
